Service Bravos
COVER: The green garrison cap (depicted) or the green barrack's cover may be worn.
BADGES: Marksmanship badges are centered above the left breast pocket with the bottom edge of the holding bar ⅛ inch above the pocket’s edge. When two badges are worn, they are symmetrically placed on a line with about ¾ inch between holding bars. When multiple badges are worn, start by aligning the badge with the thickest holding bar first 1/8 inch above the pocket. Then align the other badge's holding bar with the top of that. This alignment may cause a gap greater than 1/8 inch between the skinnier holding bar and the pocket.
The women’s uniform may have as little as ¼ inch spacing in between bars, 1/8 inch when three badges are worn.
RIBBONS: Ribbons are centered ⅛ inch and parallel above the left pocket edge. When marksmanship badges are worn, place the ribbons ⅛ inch above the widest holding bar. Ribbons are normally worn in rows of three, but rows of four may also be worn. All rows must be the same number of ribbons except for the top row.
BREAST INSIGNIA (Wings) Breast insignia are worn centered left/right ⅛ inch above the ribbons, badges, and left breast pocket.
NECKTIE Neckties may be tied with any type of standard necktie knot which presents a neat military appearance. Marines will wear a 3 and 1/8 inch khaki necktie of any approved cloth with the service "A/B" and blue dress "C" uniforms. It will not be worn with the crew-neck service sweater.
Approved hook-on (pre-tied) khaki neckties may be worn with the service and dress uniforms at the individual's option and may be used to satisfy minimum requirements.
- The necktie will be tied so that the tip of the bottom of the tie is between 1/2 inches above the belt buckle and 1/2 inches below the belt buckle.
ENLISTED GRADE INSIGNIA is sewn 4 inches below shoulder seam, centered on the seam. (3 inches below for E8 and above)
OFFICER GRADE INSIGNIA is centered top to bottom, 1 inch and parallel from the straight edge.
BELT: Belts for all uniforms will be worn at the natural waistline with the right edge of the buckle (wearer's right) on line with the edge of the fly or coat front.
SHIRT STAYS: not required but certainly will make the uniform look better for inspection. Get the type depicted above, with the loop under the foot. Link to amazon in the picture.
